Arctic conditions for UK this winter?


This is a scene from 1963 - when many rivers including the Thames froze over in Britain. Could we be in for a winter on the same scale? In 1962/63, the big freeze started on Boxing Day, and continued right up to March '63. Only time will tell if we're in for similar conditions this winter.

The Met office has been giving long term warnings to the big energy companies, and gas is in short supply this year, so it could be a long harsh winter with frequent power cuts as the worse case scenario. We shall see...
